When you take a look at the whole pick up community though, there are really two simple, yet distinctive ways to pick up girls.

First there is the memorized material. This is what Neil Strauss used for a long time, and it’s understandable seeing as how his mentor was Mystery, the king of this kind of game.

Here what you do is memorize a bunch of PUA openers and PUA routines. Each of these is scripted to impress girls in a certain way or create a strong sense of emotional connection.

Secondly, there is what is called natural game. This differs from the first type of game in that you don’t memorize a bunch of stories and canned routines. Here you basically just open your mouth and have a real and genuine conversation with women.

You’re more straightforward with your intentions and it often creates a much stronger and lasting connection with women.

If you haven’t guessed by now, between these two ways to pick up girls, I prefer the second one.

It’s just easier and I’ll be honest with you… I just don’t have the brain power to memorize hundreds of routines and scripts.

When you’re constantly searching through your mind trying to calculate the next cunning routine to say to the girl, you’re not actually there with her at all. You’re off in your brain instead of there in the moment having a real conversation and a real connection with the woman.

Now there’s nothing wrong with the first method. I know lots of guys having great success with women that only use canned material. If that’s what works for you, then by all means, do that.

But, the second way feels better to me. I don’t have to pretend to be someone I’m not and I feel like I can connect better with the women I talk to.

However between the two ways to pick up girls, I must confess that it is certainly easier to memorize the canned stuff and get started right away. In order to be truly genuine and authentic, you need to spend a lot of time working on yourself and improving your PUA inner game to the point where you feel completely comfortable and confident being yourself around women.

If you’re just getting started, I recommend you begin with the memorized stuff. This will allow you start meeting women quickly and easily. But once you master that move on the the natural game and learn how to have a real and genuine interaction with women.
